Lawrence Eugene Wold
A private burial will take place at the Sutter Cemetery for Lawrence Eugene Wold who died July 16, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 24, 1939, to Lawrence Inman and Genevieve Rose Ray Wold in Chico. He graduated from Sutter High School and attended Yuba College, Sacramento State and the University of San Francisco. He was in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Lawrence married Katherine “Kathy” in November 1964. They were married 43 years. They lived in Yuba City, Auburn, Colusa and for the last 30 years in Davis. His 38 year professional career was with the USDA, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services Agency, now called the Farm Services Agency. Lawrence was active in organizations in each community they lived in, including the 20-30 Club, Lions Club and youth baseball. He was a Hunter’s Education Instructor and an active member of St. James Catholic Church, serving in many groups and committees, most recently President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Survivors include his children, Victoria “Vicki” Lathos and her husband, Tom of Santa Maria, Lawrence M. “Larry” Wold and his wife, Kirsten Bock of Davis and Mary K. Wold of Elk Grove; brothers, Carl of Yuba City, Roy of Deer Lodge, Mont., and Milo of St. Helens, Ore., and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. James Chapter of St. Vincent de Paul in Davis. Arrangements are under the direction of Wiscombe’s Davis Funeral Chapel, Davis.
