Six Colusa County Library volunteers were awarded recently the President's Call to Service Award during the library's annual volunteer luncheon.

The recognition was given for serving as library volunteers for 20 or more years.

Volunteers Mary Winters, Mary Beth Massa, Rose Ann Ellis, Dorothy Heuer, Bea Oliveras and Juliann Cheney received the award. The honorees have given 179 years of cominbed service to the library.

The library staff hosts a volunteer luncheon every year during National Volunteer Week to thank the many volunteers who work with the library.

Library volunteers assist with everything from landscaping, adult tutoring, fund raising, general library assistance, and staffing the Book Worm. Volunteers also serve with The Friends of the Library, the Colusa Garden Clu, and the Colusa County Literacy Council.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the library should call Lucinda at 458-7671.
