Letter: Thanks for the support
The Yuletide Dinner Organizing Committee would like to thank everyone who made this year’s Yuletide Dinner such a great success.
We served over 100 meals to people at their homes and some 75 meals at the Scout Cabin.
For the last 25 years, we have been able to donate meals on Christmas Day with the help of the whole community. This year was no different. Preparations begin in October with behind the scenes tasks delegated, from decorating bags for the rice and beans and cookies, to reserving the Scout Cabin, to printing posters and fliers, the dinner is set in motion.
Our new committee member, Mrs. Marie Critchfield, enjoyed the help of many friends in the community who cooked turkeys, stuffing, decorated the Scout Cabin, peeled potatoes and vegetables. The junior class of the high school used this work as credit for their community hours.
The team who served the meals on Christmas Day deserve a special thank you, and those who worked on delivering meals to the community.
The businesses that participated in the dinner include: Johnson Printing, California Family
Foods, Impact, Colusa Dairy, Colusa Linen, Davison Drugs and Chung Sun. Colusa Lions club provides our insurance. Omega Nu has supported us many years as well. We could not do this without you.
There are far too many people to thank in this short letter. The dinner, started by Juliann Cheney some 25 or more years ago, is a chance to give back to the community.
We hope to be able to serve Colusa County for many years to come.
