Kenneth Pearson
Kenneth Ross Pearson, 64, of Maxwell CA. passed away at his residence May 14, 2008. Born November 14, 1943, the oldest son of Ross and Nilah Pearson. He was proceeded in death by his brother Edward in 1945. He is survived by four children. His oldest, Christopher from his marriage to Barbara Saunders Stidham and two sons, Michael and Joey and daughter Yvonne from their mother Betty Overton of Maxwell. He had two grandsons Nathanial and Skyler, from Christopher; two brothers, Russel Pearson of Maxwell and Merle Pearson of Willows; two sisters, Karen Jarman of Delevan, and Melanie Dempsey of Antioch; half brother Benjamin Pearson of Maxwell; half sister, Christina Pearson of Tule Lake, also aunts Kathy Nighswander of Orland and Phylis Lawson of Bakersfield; uncle Don Pearson of Maxwell; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Ken was raised on the family farm and learned to operate, repair, and manufacture farm equipment. He also worked for other farmers and businesses. He owned land and farmed rice with his family.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army as a Medical Lab Technician. When he was young, he was adventurous and fun. He enjoyed motorcycles, shooting, camping and building things. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, in high school the FFA, Maxwell Baptist Church and Maxwell United Methodist Church. He was willing to help anyone and generous with his time. He worked hard to grow fruit trees and gardens and liked to share his produce. His illness made him angry and cross with people at times and he wanted us to apologize for him and to thank the Maxwell Fire Dept. and the Colusa County Sheriff Officers for coming to his aid many times.
He wanted his daughter Yvonne to know how special she was to him. He was very proud of her.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 19th from 5-8 p.m. at McNary-moore Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 20th 10 a.m. at Maxwell Baptist Church. Interment followed at Maxwell Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of McNary-Moore Funeral Service.
