Kimberly Pina-Moore, 29, right, with her fiancé and co-owner of Stromberg's Photography, says her favorite memory of Christmas is going through the ornaments and the memories they bring.

Kimberly Pina-Moore

Name: Kimberly Pina-Moore.

Age: 29.

Family: Fiancé, Morgan Stromberg; daughter, Aubrey; and son, Rowdy.

City of residence: Colusa.

Occupation: Photographer and co-owner of Stromberg's Photography, and co-owner of Salvage Sisters.

Favorite aspect of the Christmas season: The decorating and the smell of a real tree in your house.

Least favorite aspect of the Christmas season: The cleaning up of the decorations and the tree.

Favorite holiday tradition: Getting and decorating the tree with the kiddos while we listen to old Christmas songs from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis and more from our record player. Yes, I'm a bit old fashioned.

What Christmas tradition would you like to start? This year, we are introducing the Elf on the Shelf with the kids. Should be fun and interesting.

What are your pre- and post-holiday routines? A big one for me is we don't even start our Christmas decorating or getting a tree until after my daughter Aubrey's birthday, which is Dec. 10. I am huge on her still having her own separate birthday and then Christmas. It's not her fault she was born so close to Christmas, so I always make sure they are two separate holidays for her.

What is your favorite holiday dish? My vice: I'm not a big cook so I love when we have big holiday get-togethers. I get to eat all the yummy food that everyone else painstakingly prepares.

What is the strangest dish that appears on your holiday table? We celebrate with so many different families, buy maybe frybread at my pop's. Being native, I love when he makes his frybread, and not a lot of people know what that is. It's exactly as it sounds, bread that is fried. Not the healthiest but yummy, nonetheless.

Is there a dish that you always avoid? Yams, like the plague. Sorry, you can't put enough marshmallows on those things to try and entice me.

What is your favorite memory of Christmas? Always the getting out of the Christmas tree ornaments and going through each and every one of them and the memories they brought me growing up.

Have you been a good girl this year or will you be receiving a lump of coal? I think I'm pretty good, but the jury is still out. Guess I will have to wait and see.

Christmas trees: White lights or colored lights? Oh, definitely colored. I'm old-school, remember? And I love the colors.
