Mosquito assessment only in annexed area

A flier was sent out to all people within the county about a possible annexation to the Colusa Mosquito Abatement District. Many people within the current district boundaries might be a little confused.

This annexation, if passed, would generate revenue for the district to expand its program into the annexed areas. The people within the existing Colusa Mosquito Abatement District would not have an increase in their mosquito taxes. The people in the new annexed area of the western part of the valley floor of Colusa County would be taxed for mosquito-control services if approved by the majority of the voters in the proposed addition to the district.
