Buy your Christmas poinsettias

 

The deadline to order your poinsettias for the Egling Middle School fundraiser is coming up. Each plant is $12 and orders and money must be received by Nov. 20. Mail orders to Becky English, c/o Egling Middle School, 813 Webster St. Colusa, CA., 95932, or call 458-7631

Guest singers at Colusa Assembly of God

Dan and Carol Fryer of DCVF Ministries will be the guest singers, 10:30 a.m., Sunday, at the Colusa Assembly of God, 1747 Highway 20. The Fryers write much of their own music and have performed on several television programs. For more information, contact 458-2585.

Celebrate the holiday season

The second annual Festival of Lights Parade will be held on Dec. 12 on E Street in Williams. Sponsored by the Citizens for a Better Williams, the parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and concludes with a community get-together at the Sacramento Valley Museum, 1491 E. Colusa Church celebrates 140 years

Colusa First Christian Church is celebrating their 140 year anniversary on Sunday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The oldest church in continuous service in Colusa County, services were first held at the courthouse while the building was being constructed.

A special, historical service will be held at the courthouse gazebo, on the corner of 6th and Jay St. in Colusa. For more information, call 458-4270.

Breakfast feeds hungry hunters

The Maxwell FFA will hold its annual Pheasant Hunter Breakfast from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Nov. 14, at the Maxwell Elementary School multi-purpose room. Cost $5 for adults; $3 children under 10. For more information, call Maxwell High School Ag Department at 438-2425.

Live band to rock church

A free event featuring a live band playing the hottest radio hits you hear on KLOVE and AIR1 radio stations will rock the First Presbyterian Church of Colusa at 7 p.m. today.

Jamboree promises basketball action

The second annual Lady Junior Jackets Jamboree, also known as the seventh- and eighth-grade girls basketball tournament, will begin at 9 a.m. today in the Williams High Gym, with teams from Egling and Maxwell. At 11 a.m., Johnson takes on the host team, Williams. Winners playoff in the afternoon. Every team will leave with a trophy. Admission: $2 for adults; $1 for children under the age of 12. Snack Bar available.

Holiday craft show back in town

The 23rd annual Colusa Holiday Craft Faire and Gift Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, Nov. 21-22. Admission and parking is free.

Farmers Market brightens holidays

The Colusa Business and Visitors Center will host a Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 . Gift baskets, holiday wreaths, honey, local cheeses, eggs, fresh produce, fresh baked goods, olives and more will be available.

Soroptimist looking for members

Soroptimist International of Colusa County is inviting anyone interested in learning about or becoming a member of Soroptimist to come to an introduction to Soroptimist meeting at noon, Thursday at the Morse Conference room in Colusa. Details: 218-8399.
