Hunter's breakfast in Maxwell

The Maxwell FFA will host their annual Pheasant Hunter's Breakfast from 6 a.m.-9 a.m. today at the Maxwell Elementary School multipurpose room, 146 North St., Maxwell.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

Hospital auxiliary sale Friday

The Colusa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas Boutique and Bake Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the hospital on East Webster Street.

A gift basket and birdhouse raffle will be held as well.

Pheasant Festival dinner today

Our Lady of Lourdes parishis hosting its annual Pheasant Festival dinner and bazaar from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Dinner includes tri-tip, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, vegetable, bread and beverage. Adults are $14; children 10 and under, $7.

Silent auction, country store, door prizes and more. Tickets available at Our Lady of Lourdes School or parish office. Details: 458-8208 or 458-4170.

Veterans Day event scheduled

The 17th annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Arbuckle Golf Club will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Representatives of area veterans groups, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, will attend.

The golf club is located at 5918 Hillgate Road.

Vets' fees waived on Sunday

The US Army Corps of Engineers will waive day-use fees for veterans, active and reserve service members, and their families on Sunday.

Fee waiver also includes boat launch ramps and swimming beaches, but does not apply to camping and camping-related services, or specialized facilities such as picnic shelters.

Turkey bowling slated Tuesday

Sav-Mor Foods will hold a Turkey Bowl from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday. Bring a canned food item to donate to the Impact Life Colusa County Food Bank and you will get to bowl with a frozen turkey.

Gift certificates and prizes will be awarded to anyone who bowls a strike.

Eagle Lake dock will be pulled

In advance of the winter season, the Lassen National Forest managementwill remove the boarding dock at the low water boat ramp at Eagle Lake.

This move is intended to prevent ice, wind and wave action from damaging the dock. The boat ramp will be available until Dec. 31, or until weather makes it unsafe to use.

The Community Action Agency of Butte County, Inc. Surplus Government Commodities distribution will take place at the following locations:
