SuperBooster pass available
Colusa SuperBooster passes are now on sale for the 2010-2011 season. For $100, you gain admission to all home games: Football, basketball, volleyball and wrestling. Also included is a SuperBooster T-shirt and entrance to the SuperBooster Reception at both the football and basketball homecoming games. Ham radio classes offered
The Colusa County Sheriff's Department is hosting an amateur ham radio training classes each Saturday from Sept. 11 to Oct. 30.
The classes run from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Sheriff's Office, 929 Bridge St. A manual is recommended, but not required. The cost is $24.95 and can be purchased at www.ARRL.org.
The classes will prepare participants for the exam to get an entry level ham radio license, and the Sheriff's Department is hoping some of the participants would then be interested in joining its emergency communications unit.

Commodity distribution scheduled
Commodity distribution to eligible families in Colusa County will take place as follows:
Aug. 26, 8:30-10:30 a.m., Colusa Senior Center/Boy Scouts Cabin, 901 Parkhill St., Colusa;
Aug. 26, 9-11 a.m., Williams Baptist Church, 251 Eighth St., Williams;
Aug. 25: 9:30-11:30 a.m., George E. Cain Children's Center, 185 N St.
Aug. 27, 11 a.m. to noon, Grimes Boy Scout Building;
Aug. 30, 9-11 a.m., Arbuckle Family Action Center, 615 Hall St., Arbuckle.
Create a fitter you
The Colusa Parks and Community Services will continue its fitness programs, open to all levels, including body fat testing and measurements, nutritional guidance, cardiovascular, circuit and weight training. Yoga, Pilates, and low impact classes are available. For more information, call Lani at 458-5622, ext. 101.
Annual demolition derby
The Colusa Firefighters Association will host its third annual Demolition Derby on Sept. 11 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds Grandstand, 1303 10th St., Colusa.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and the derby starts at 7. Tickets are $10 for children 12 and under and $15 for adults. Bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Impact Toy Drive and save $5 off the admission fee at the time of purchase.
Tickets are available at the Colusa Fire Department, 750 Market St., or from any Colusa firefighter. Tickets will also be available at the gate.
