Rusty Chambers

Age: 32.

Family: Mom, Tracy; sister, Dionnea; grandmothers, Carolyn and Shirley; as well as cousins, uncles, and aunts. Oh, and my dog, Pugsley.

City of residence: Born and raised in good ol' Colusa.

Occupation: Cashier at your friendly Jackpot.

Hobbies and interests: Always enjoy a nice trip out of town, spending time by the coast.

What are your favorite things about spring? I love the old days when winter would slowly ease into spring and the weather would start to fluctuate between cool and warm weather instead of these days. Cold one day and hot the next.

What are some of your fondest memories? I remember my seventh Christmas: I woke up, came out of my room and there were presents from the tree in the corner to the hallway across the room. I also remember the day I moved into my own apartment, it was all mine and I was so excited to grow up.

Whom do you most admire and why? I admire my mom. She had me at a very young age and I watched her as she struggled in life. She was trying to raise me while she was growing up herself. I think she did a pretty good job.

What is your dream job? Anything that is fun, entertaining and pays a lot of money. A place that makes you want to come to work and not want to leave at the end of your shift.

What quality in people do you most admire? Sense of humor. I believe everyone should smile and laugh at least once a day.

What was the last thing that made you laugh? Something a customer told me, but I can't put it on here. My boss might read this.

What topic of conversation really gets you steamed? People talking about other people in a racist tone. I believe everyone is equal, no matter who or what they are.

What are you thankful for? I am thankful for not ever being involved in drugs and alcohol. I have seen what they have done to people I know and care for, and I'm glad I never got involved in it.

Is there anything you're truly passionate about? Equal rights. Separation of church and state.

Biggest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment would be growing up to be strong and knowing how to take care of myself. It wasn't easy, but I learned a lot, and am thankful it made me a stronger person today.
