E-waste has Williams disposal place
Recology and the city of Williams offers free monthly drop-off of electronic waste such as TVs, household batteries, fluorescent tubes and computer waste, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the first Friday of each month at the city public works yard, 735 Seventh St., Williams. Limit five TVs or computers each visit. For more information, call 473-2519.
Sacred Heart Sodality Card Party Saturday
The Sacred Heard Sodality will host its annual card party and luncheon on Sat. at the Maxwell Elementary School, 146 W. North Street in Maxwell. A buffet salad luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. with cards to follow. A donation of $12 is requested. For more information, call Karen at 438-2921.

A fabulous treasure or just a hoax
Join the Friends of the Colusa County Free Library for an evening with author Arnold J. Bauer. Learn about the mysterious emergence of a fabled painted book that traces the history of Mexico from the early 13th century to the mid-16th century with "The Search for the Codex Cardona."
A reception will start at 6:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 on Feb. 11 at the Colusa County Business and Visitor Center, 2963 Davison Court, Colusa. Call Catherine Bernard at 458-5601 for more information.
Quilter's guild workshops available

Learn to knit
The City of Colusa will offer a knitting class taught by Frankie Forney and Sue Nicoletti from 1-4 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the City Hall Conference Room. The cost of the class is $15. Class will include instruction on Casting On, Purl and Garter Stitches, along with Continental and English methods. Submit your theme for the Maxwell Rodeo
The 80th Annual Maxwell Rodeo Theme Contest entry forms are now available. Pick one up at the MHS District Office, Maxwell Elementary School, Maxwell Market, Post Office or the Chevron Station in Maxwell. Deadline to turn in your completed Theme Entry form into one of the rodeo boxes is Feb. 19. A $25 cash prize will be awarded to the chosen theme.
Enjoy the best chicken in town
The community is invited to a the annual chicken/ham dinner from 5-7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Arbuckle United Methodist Church. Adult tickets are $10 and children 4-12 yrs. are $4. A quilt raffle as well as well as children's activities will also be available. Tickets are available from any member of the congregation and will also be available at the door.
Soothe your senses and find balance
Sign up now for yoga and meditation classes to be held every Sat. morning from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the City Hall Auditorium beginning March 6.
