Co-ed softball tourney Saturday
Indigenous Circles United is hosting its inaugural Honoring Our Past, Sustaining Our Future Softball co-ed softball tournament Saturday at the Lewis Tennant Softball Complex in Colusa. The tournament will raise money for Indigenous Circles United, which runs a community center for children on Market Street in Colusa and gives out scholarships to area students.
Teams from Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Elk Creek and Colusa have already signed up for the tournament, which costs $250 per team. Each team must have at least four players between the ages of 14 and 17, and at least two women with a maximum roster size of 16 players. Each team will play at least three games.
The tournament is partnering with Paco's Jump for a kids area and, depending on the weather, a slip-and-slide.
The tournament is an alcohol- and drug-free event.
Indigenous Circles United was founded to sustain indigenous culture through applied traditions while acknowledging and providing ample opportunity for personal growth and educational excellence.
