Fun run being held in Williams
There is going to be a Harvest Run in Williams beginning at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at Williams High School for all interested runners, walkers, crawlers and strollers.
There are 5K and 1-mile courses through the city of Williams. The cost is $10 for students and $20 for adults. Pre-registration is available by email at email@example.com.
Proceeds go to the Delta Theta Pi Sorority as they support several school events. Refreshments, awards and random prize drawings will be available after the race.

College sports recruiting seminar in Chico
All student-athletes and their parents are invited to attend a free college athletics recruiting seminar at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Pleasant Valley High in Chico. The seminar features Julian Jones of the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA), which has partnered with the California State Athletic Directors Conference to try and get the word out to all student-athletes and their parents about the college recruiting process and college athletic requirements.

CDFW salmon viewing on Yuba River
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is offering naturalist-led tours on Saturdays in October for a unique salmon-viewing opportunity on the Yuba River.
The fall run of king salmon as they return from the sea to spawn in the Yuba River east of Marysville can be enjoyed by participants via access provided by the University of California Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center. Ninety minute tours beginning at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. will explore a section of the Yuba River featuring scenic vistas and close proximity to salmon spawning beds.
Advance registration via the CDFW website is required at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/regions/2/salmontours/. Space is limited to 30 per tour with supervised children allowed. Participants are encouraged to dress for changeable weather and to bring drinking water and snacks. Bringing binoculars is also suggested although a spotting scope and some loaner binoculars will be available.
Colusa Unified Super Booster Athletic Passes for sale
The Colusa RedHawks Athletic Foundation is selling Colusa Unified Super Booster Athletic Passes for $100 per person.
The pass allows free admission to Colusa High and Egling Middle School home games for the 2013-2014 school year, excluding tournaments and Northern Section playoffs. There are potential savings of more than $100 and the donation to CRAF may be tax-deductible.
Proceeds of this sale will benefit Colusa High School and Egling Middle School athletics.
