Maxwell utility board has vacancy

 

Anyone interested in serving on the board for Maxwell Public Utility District can file an application with the Colusa County Board of Supervisors.

The position will be filled Oct. 8.

Stonyford Buyers to host pig feed, auction

The 12th annual Stonyford Buyers Group Pig Feed, Auction and dance will be Sept. 12 at the Stonyford Community Hall. Dinner is from 5 to 8 p.m.; auction 6 to 8; dance starts 9 with the Jimmy Dunlap Band. No host bar. Tickets are $12, in advance only. Tickets and details: 963-3200 or 963-3899.

Colusa youth invited to join 4-H

The Colusa 4-H will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 14. Enrollment accepted. Meetings are held at 745 Ware Avenue, Colusa.

Six weeks to a better body

The Colusa Recreation Department is offering a better body fitness class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and 4 to 5:15 p.m. from Sept. 14 — Oct. 23 in the Colusa City Hall auditorium, 425 Webster St. Cost is $160. Sign up by Sept. 10. Details 458-5622, ext. 109.

Local artists invited to share talent

Local artists are encouraged to bring their talents to the public for viewing. An art show and sale will be held at from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at Creative Looks, at 385 Oak St., Maxwell. The show is hosted by the Colusa Regional Medical Center Art Committee. Details: 458-5821, ext. 351 or 458-4444.

Learn to ballroom dance in Colusa

The Colusa Recreation Department is offering a beginning ballroom dance class from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Sept. 24 — Oct. 29. in the Colusa City Hall auditorium, 425 Webster St. Learn the east coast swing, fox trot, waltz and others. Cost is $30 per person. Details: 458-5622, ext. 109.

Bingo, games, movie for all in Williams

The Williams Community Center Association offers Bingo each Monday. Early bird games at 6 p.m. Regular games at 7 p.m. Game day is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 16. The free Movie day is at 1 p.m. Sept. 23. Enjoy the movie classic comedy "Topper," starring Cary Grant. The Williams Veterans Hall is located at 9th and C Street, Williams.

Swing for Life

Colusa Regional Medical Center will host its 18th annual "Swing for Life" golf tournament on Sept. 25. Proceeds are used toward recruitment of a specialty physician. The tournament is a scramble, with horse d'oeuvres and raffle following. Details: 237-7765, 682-9795 or 713-5288.

Seniors invited to enjoy lunch

Senior citizens meet for lunch at noon, Monday through Thursday, at the Senior Center, 901 Parkhill St., Colusa. Suggested donations are $3 for seniors 60 and over and $4 for non-seniors. Reservations required. Details: 458-0380.

Colusa grief support offered

McNary-Moore Funeral Service of Colusa sponsors a free grief support group at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Trinity United Methodist Church, 511 Oak St., Colusa. Details: 458-2111.

Colusa offers senior walking program

The Colusa Parks and Community Service Department offers a weekly senior walking program at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at City Hall, 425 Webster St. Details: 458-5622, ext. 109, or visit www.cityofcolusa.com.

Summer market keeps produce fresh

The Arbuckle Certified Farmers Market is held every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at LaVanche Hursh Community Park in downtown Arbuckle. Barbecue dinner served.
