What's happening in Stonyford? Museum seeking info on military personnel

The Stonyford Museum has had their Cast Iron display on view for quite a while now. Its last showing is 1-4 p.m. Sunday. It has been a great success, enjoyed by many.

The next project is a display of vintage Pyrex and Fire King. If you have any items you would be willing to share, contact Joyce Bond at 963-3141. You may donate your items or put them on loan for the showing and they will be returned to you.

The museum is also collecting information for a presentation of Stonyford-area residents who have served in the military, from long past to the present. Joyce would like pictures of the serviceman and woman, in uniform if possible, with the service dates, branch of the military, any stories you may have. Again, contact Joyce Bond if you have something to share.

Squaw Creek Inn is open after being closed for a short period for new paint. Stop in and check out the new look, lots of wonderful color. The St. Patty's Day party was a success, lots of green showing. Biscuits and gravy are a standard for Sunday morning, or if you're really hungry try their garbage omelet.

The Stonyford Grange is continuing to serve dinners on Tuesday evenings from 5-7 p.m. This week's offering was beans and ham, fried potatoes. They are alternating spaghetti with other cold-weather fare such as chili or potato soup. Stop in and see what this Tuesday's menu is. Dinner and dessert is only $6.

Yes, we're back from Arizona. Had a great time.

The sewing group will be meeting again on Wednesdays starting in April, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The quilt lady gifted seven quilts this winter to various Stonyford residents. We're looking forward to making more this season.

It's supposed to be springtime, but it still feels like winter. We're having a fire almost every morning. But we're looking forward to warmer weather, and our rodeo, the first weekend of May.
