Pierce graduate promoted

David Ferry, a 1998 graduate of Pierce High School in Arbuckle, was promoted Monday to the rank of major in the US Army.

His parents are John and Gloria Ferry of the Arbuckle area.

Princeton grad finishes basic

Army Pfc. Christopher W. Killebrew has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Killebrew is the son of Kasey Killebrew of Willows and is a 2012 graduate of Princeton High School.
