Letter: Waterworks rose garden could use some TLC
My grandfather, James M. Fouch, was the superintendent of the municipal waterworks in Colusa for many years. Before he passed away in 1955, he planted the roses that are on the south side of the waterworks building.
I’ve been saddened to see how neglected these heritage roses are, and yet I’m amazed that they can still produce such beautiful and fragrant roses.
Is there a garden club or someone in Colusa who would be willing to care for these roses? They are a link to Colusa’s past and I believe they should be saved.
