Purposeful pioneers celebrated in Williams

Hunter safety course available in Arbuckle

Local poaching author to discusses books

A book signing for Terry Grosz’s “Genesis of a Duck Cop” and “Slaughter in the Sacramento Valley” is at noon Monday at 640 Market St., Colusa. Details: 458-4444.


Open houses set  on natural gas project

Central Valley Gas Storage plans two open houses to provide information about its proposed natural gas storage facility and pipeline to be built near Princeton. The first is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Princeton High School cafeteria. The second is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Maxwell Inn, 81 Oak St., Maxwell. Details: www.cvgasstorage.com.


Park series includes concerts, barbecues

Barbecue and concerts in the park series begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park, 10th and Market streets, Colusa, and runs every other Thursday until September. First week: Skyliners play swing and big band music and Colusa Rotary cooks. Details: 458-5622 ext. 101.

Colusa ‘Teen Night’ entertain for summer

A weekly Teen Night program begins Friday at the Colusa swimming pool, 933 Parkhill St. Open to children ages 13 and up from 6 to 8 p.m. Fridays. Cost is $1 per person. Sponsored by Colusa Parks and Community Services Department. Details: 458-5622, ext. 109.


Local country singing competition opens

Swimming lessons offered to youth

Red Cross swim lessons are 10 a.m. to noon, half an hour each, June 15 through 26 and July 13 through 24 at Colusa City Swimming Pool, 933 Parkhill St. Sign up at City Hall, 425 Webster St., Colusa. Summer Bible school offered for local youth

Vacation Bible school is from 9 to 11:45 a.m. June 15 to 19 at Colusa Assembly of God, 1747 Highway 20, Colusa. Kindergarten through sixth grade. Details: 458-2585.


Card ‘golf’ tournament open to all local players

Junior lifesaving class available for 8 and up

Evening of Christian fellowship planned
