Community Briefs: Williams finance workshop time moved
The Williams City Council has moved its finance planning workshop to 1 p.m. on Feb. 22.
The meeting had been set for 9 a.m.
The council is working to develop financial plans over the next decade, considering the city's needs in a worst-case scenario, and in effort to show residents how important it is to continue a half-cent sales tax increase first passed in 2007. It sunsets in April 2013.

CHS Class of 1962 reunion set
The Colusa High School Class of 1962 will hold its 50th reunion in Reno on Aug. 3-4.

Card party/luncheon Feb. 25
The Arbuckle Knights of Columbus will hold their first annual Card Party and Luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Holy Cross Catholic Hall, 608 Laurel St., Arbuckle.
Whist, bridge and pinochle will be played. The fee is $15 per person.

Youth award nominations open
The Colusa County Office of Education is accepting nominations for the seventh annual Caring Youth Awards.
Nominations are open for anyone 5 to 18 years old, and all children who are nominated will be acknowledged.
Nominations are based on three categories of "Community Values," which are derived from the Search Institute's 10 Developmental Assets. The three categories are: Strength of Character; Heroic Resilience; and Community Service.

'Feeling at Home' photos sought
The Colusa County Arts Council is accepting entries to its "Feeling at Home: A Photo Essay" show that will be held in conjunction with the annual Virginia Yerxa Community Read.
The Virginia Read, focusing on "The Grapes of Wrath," will be held April 28.
The Arts Council show will highlight black and white photos "featuring images that capture the feeling of home" and in the style of photographer Dorothea Lange. Lange was associated with John Steinbeck as he wrote the articles that ultimately became his classic novel.
Entries are due by March 1. Entry forms and additional information are available at http://colusacountyartscouncil.org.
Family Game Night this week
The first Family Game Night of 2012 will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colusa branch of the Colusa County Library.
Scrabble is the featured game, including regular Scrabble, Scrabble for children, and Scrabble in Spanish. This is a free program.
Snacks will be served. No reservation necessary.
Library sponsoring Chess Club
The Colusa County Library is sponsoring a Chess Club.
The group meets from 3-5 pm Mondays and Tuesdays at the library in Colusa. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
