A farmers market and bazaar will take place in Williams from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays at 550 Eighth St.
Fresh fruits and vegetables, antiques, books, quilts and tools and more will be available for purchase.

Williams Antique Show set next weekend
The Williams Antique Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 17 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 18 at the Old Gym, 1491 E St., organized by the city.
The food booth will be run by Williams Catholic Church of Annunciation as their annual fundraiser.
Stonyford firefighters cooking Indian tacos
Stonyford Volunteer Fire Department will host its third annual Indian taco and raffle fundraisers from 5-8 p.m. on March 24 at the Stonyford Community Hall.

Area author to speak at library
Elk Creek High School graduate Melissa Anne Whitney, author of two books, will speak about her latest, "Exordium," at the Friends of the Colusa County Library's "Evening with the Author."
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 29 in the Morse Conference Room of the library in Colusa.
Copies of the book, a tale of a teenaged hero in a mythological thriller, will be on sale at the event, or can be purchased online.

Kids self-defense class today
A self-defense against strangers workshop for children ages 4-12 will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. today at the Old Gym in Williams, 1491 E St.
David Kincanno, a black belt in martial arts, in association with American Tae-Kwando, will be providing karate classes. The cost is $10 for the first child and $8 for each additional child. Pay at the door.

Cattlemen scholarship offered
The Glenn Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are offering a scholarship in the amount of $200,000 to students who will be entering their junior, senior or graduate years of upper division university or college in the fall of 2012, preferably with an emphasis on beef production and/or promotion.
