Briefs: Antique show starts today
The Williams Antique Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Old Gym, 1491 E St., organized by the City of Williams.
The food booth will be supplied by Williams Catholic Church of Annunciation as their annual fundraiser.
Whist Card Party on Sunday
The annual Knights of Columbus St. Patrick's Day Whist Card Party will be held at noon Sunday at St. Bernadette's Hall, 741 Ware Ave., Colusa.
The day had been reported incorrectly in Wednesday's edition of the Sun-Herald.
The cost is $10 and includes a corned beef lunch.

Firefighters go for laughs
The 18th annual Comedy Night, presented by the Colusa Rural Firefighters Association, is scheduled for March 24 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30. The show, featuring professional comics, starts at 8. No one under 21 is allowed.
A raffle and auction are also part of the festivities.
Tickets are $35, and can be purchased through a firefighter, at Superior Tires, Reading Oil or by calling 458-0239.
Art Show & Share Wednesday
Local artists' paintings and photographs will be on display for the "Art Show & Share" from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at CRMC Arbuckle Medical office, 900 King St., in front of Dr. Johnson's former office.
Enjoy the display, along with music and refreshments.

Indian Taco Feed soon
The Indian Valley Fire Department will hold their Indian Taco Feed fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. March 24 at the Stonyford Town Hall.
Pre-sale tickets are $7, or $8 at the door and home delivery is available within 10 miles, pre-sale tickets only.

Gelding clinic offered in Orland
A low cost gelding clinic will be held at the Glenn County Fair on March 27, to safely and humanely help reduce
the area's future volume of surplus horses.
The cost for a male horse is $75. The clinic is being put on by the National Equine Resource Network and R-VETS.

Area author to speak at library
Elk Creek High graduate Melissa Anne Whitney, author of two books, will speak about her latest, "Exordium," at the Friends of the Colusa County Library's "Evening with the Author."
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 29 in the Morse Conference Room of the library in Colusa.
Copies of the book, a tale of a teenage hero in a mythological thriller, will be on sale at the event, or can be purchased online.
