Wish her well
A retirement lunch in honor of Dorothy Bowden will be held at 12:30 p.m. today at the Grimes Scout Cabin, 203 Main St., Grimes. After nearly 20 years, Dorothy has retired from Colusa County's Maxwell Landfill. Everyone is invited to attend.
Join a fitness
class for seniors
The City of Colusa is offering a low impact fitness class for seniors, every Monday and Wednesday from 10 - 10:30 a.m., in the auditorium at City Hall, 425 Webster St. Cost is $20. To register, call 458-5622 ext. 101 or 458-5622 ext. 109.
Build a better body
A new session for the Better Body Fitness Class will begin Monday at the City Hall Auditorium, 425 Webster St., Colusa. Bring hand weights and a mat. Space is limited. Sign up now at City Hall or call 624-3038 or 458-5025
Audition for
the Stagehands
The Stagehands will hold auditions for their spring plays from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at the Stagehands Theater, located at the Colusa County Fairgrounds. Call Shot Sistrunk at 458-5070 or 916-591-5070.
Maxwell to
hold blood drive
BloodSource will hold a blood drive at the Maxwell Fire Station, 231 Oak St, from 3-6 p.m. on Jan. 11. All participants will receive a free T-shirt. Call 1-866-822-5663
Book club sets
next gathering
The recent release, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" by Jamie Ford will be the topic of discussion the Colusa County Book Club, which will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Morse Conference Room in the main library building in Colusa on Market Street.
The book club meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend and there are several copies of the book available at the library.
Refreshments will be served and the selection for the next meeting will be announced by whomever wishes to be the presenter.
