Briefs: Water workshop today
PG&E will host an irrigation water management workshop today, with registration from 7:40-7:55 a.m., at Colusa Casino Resort, 3730 Highway 45, Colusa.
The Advanced Pumping Efficiency Program will demonstrate live pump simulations to show their effect on energy use, as well as hear about energy successes from local farmers and more.
A light breakfast and sit-down lunch will be provided, as well as time for networking with local ranchers, growers, and vendors in attendance.
Center holds open house
The Safe Haven Drop-In Center will host a Holiday Open House from 2-4 p.m. today.
The center is located at 131 Fifth St. It will be open for refreshments and tours.
An Angel Tree will be in place from which visitors can take a paper ornament and then help support the need that it represents.

Lions dinner on Monday
The Colusa Lions Club will hold its annual carnitas take-out dinner from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Egling Middle School cafeteria, 813 Webster St.
Dinner includes carnitas prepared by Tommy's Market Street Grill, rice, beans, salsa and tortillas. The cost is $8.
Dinner tickets can be purchased at Tommy's Market Street Grille, Messick's Ace Hardware, at the door, or from any Lions Club member.
Proceeds support local Boy Scouts, schools and community projects.
Growers meeting on Dec. 5
The Colusa County Agriculture Department is holding its annual growers meeting and lunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 5 in Festival Hall of the Colusa County Fairgrounds.
The meeting counts for 3.5 hours toward continued education requirements.
Training on heat illness and confined spaces by On Site Safety Services will be offered. There is no fee.
