Letter: It does take a village

I would like to thank Susan Meeker for the article she wrote on my mother in last Saturday's paper. 

I just wanted to let the community know that without the help of my family and friends — and the Community Foundation of Colusa County and the Colusa County One Stop — I could not have done it. My daughters Rosa, Lionor, Monique and Marci, and husband Raul, are there to support me in everything I do.

Kathy Bowman, and daughter Misty, Lucy Gutierrez, Mike Candito, Barbara Azevedo have all donated time, money, and items to the concession stand. 

Scott and Estella Dudman helped in sponsoring three of the children in the football program, and Sandy Crabral and the city of Colusa have supported me through out the softball season with the concession stand.

I've always said I stayed in Colusa because of my mother, now that she is gone, I realize, I stay in Colusa because of family, friends and a giving community.

Oh, and it's a great place to raise kids.
