Hello, Fall: Bring on the pumpkins: Arbuckle holds festival
The third annual Arbuckle Pumpkin Festival took place on Saturday at LaVanche Hursch Community Park, as vendors and community members came together to bring in the harvest season.
Mary Fahey, the vice president of the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee, was pleased by the turnout.
"This is our third year, and we're getting a little bigger. I got a lot of vendor interest this year," Fahey said.
This year, the festival saw the greatest number of participation in its three-year history. Vendors from around the county offered beauty supplies, cookies, jewelry and more.
And of course, there were the pumpkins.
"We've had some local folks grow the pumpkins this year," Fahey said.
Students from Pierce High School helped with the setup, pick-up and with loading pumpkins for those who bought them. In return, they received community service hours for school.
Cheerleaders from the high school had a face-painting booth next to a bounce house, both of which were popular with children.
