Corning man recovering after reported abduction

A Corning man is recovering from several stab wounds he suffered when he was reportedly kidnapped from his home on Fig Lane on Friday.

Law enforcement is still looking for the man and woman in connection with the incident.

California Highway Patrol reported William Adamson, 59, was "abducted by force by use of a knife," from his residence at 4:30 a.m. by two people, who have been identified as Ricky Gene Nolen Jr., 32, of Oroville, and Rebecca Diane Bochantin, 40, of Chico.

The CHP reported Adamson was forced to drive his vehicle to his bank with instructions to withdraw funds from his account.

When Adamson told is captors there was only $25 in the ac count, they reportedly made him drive northbound on Interstate 5, where Adamson pulled into the rest area north of Corning and tried to escape, the CHP reported.

That is when Adamson was stabbed in the back, right shoulder and right hand, the CHP reported.

After Adamson got away, the kidnappers drove way in Adamson's vehicle.

"The vehicle was later recovered in Chico, but the suspects are still outstanding and wanted on charges of attempted murder, burglary, kidnapping, and carjacking," said CHP Officer Philip Mackintosh.

Adamson was transported to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and then released, the CHP reported.

Nolen is described as white, with brown hair and blue eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing 160 pounds.

Bochantin is described as white, with brown hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
