Colusa woman arrested for embezzlement

A 31-year-old Colusa woman has been arrested on suspicion of stealing more than $10,000 from her Yuba City employer.
Elizabeth Ann Carvalho, of the 500 block of Ware Avenue, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Watkins Heating & Air Conditioning in the 1700 block of Blevin Road on suspicion of forgery and embezzling.
Carvalho forged company checks to pay credit card and other bills while working as the company's bookkeeper, said Yuba City Police Department spokeswoman Shawna Pavey.
Carvalho is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 22 in Sutter County Superior Court.
