Meridian bridge to open

The Meridian bridge will be open from about 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday – delaying Highway 20 traffic  in both directions, Caltrans announced.

It is a routine inspection done annually.

The swinging, turntable bridge was built in 1977 to replace one destroyed by fire.

Caltrans suggests finding an alternate route. The inspection is subject to change due to weather.
