The spectators oohed and awed with each burst.
In the afternoon, the Colusa Lions Club also held the annual Duckie Race. Victoria Franco won the $500 top prize while Sue Bailey was second at $300 and Linda Randolph took the the $200 third prize.
The fireworks show is truly a community event, with the purchase of the fireworks coming directly from local businesses and residents.
No government funding is used.
The money is collected through the Colusa Firefighters Association nonprofit organization, but that is for financing purposes only.
