Deputies may have their man
College City man booked on two counts each of robbery, burglary
Authorities arrested a College City man Wednesday in connection with a series of armed robberies in Colusa and Yolo counties. Colusa County Sheriffs deputies arrested 21-year-old Haurilio Valencia Silva just before 11:30 a.m. at his home, the Sheriffs Department said. He was booked into the Colusa County Jail on suspicion of two counts each of robbery and burglary. Bail was set at $100,000. The accusations stemmed from at least four attacks on small stores in Colusa, Arbuckle and Dunnigan since January. Colusa county, city and Yolo County authorities said a man wearing a ski mask confronted clerks with a sawed-off firearm, stealing more than $700 each from a service station and dollar store in Arbuckle. A Valero gas station at Bridge and Market streets in Colusa was the most recent target, on Feb. 26, but the owner drove off the robber with a broom and forced him to flee empty-handed. Deputies served search warrants in Colusa and Silvas home in the 700 block of Seventh Street in College City. The searches turned up a ski mask, gloves and an imitation firearm believed to have been used in the thefts, according to the Sheriffs Department.
