CalFire fights dozens of lightning-sparked spot fires
Three dozen lightning-sparked fires were contained to small spots in Northern California this week, reported CalFire.
While Wednesday night's thunderstorms moved out of the state, gusty winds continue to pose a challenge to firefighters, who continue to make progress on the seven large wildfires that are burning in the state.
CalFire said it is monitoring the winds closely as there is a good chance winds could significantly increase over the weekend.
As dry conditions and gusty winds continue to elevate the fire danger, CalFire warns those enjoying the outdoors to be extra cautious in avoiding any activity that would pose a fire danger.
