5 arrested on weapons charges after Yuba City fight

Five people were arrested on weapons charges Thursday in connection with a large fight in the 1700 block of Germaine Drive in Yuba City.

Sutter County sheriff's deputies found brass knuckles, a baseball bat and a sword in a vehicle that was stopped on Bogue Road shortly after it fled the scene of the fight, Sutter County sheriff's spokeswoman Brenda Baker said.

No injuries were reported and the incident does not appear to be gang-related, but no one is cooperating, deputies said.

Deputies arrested Charandeep Singh, 19, of Live Oak; Gurmandeep S. Gill, 18, of Yuba City; Ramandeep Singh, 23, of Stockton; and Tarangot Singh, 19, of Sacramento. All four were booked into the Sutter County Jail on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon.

A 17-year-old male was also arrested on the same charge. He was taken to Bi-County Juvenile Hall.

Charandeep Singh was still in custody Friday. His bail was set at $15,000. He is due in court Monday. Ramandeep Singh, Tarangot Singh, and Gill posted bail bonds and were released.

Tarangot Singh and Ramandeep Singh are scheduled May 7 for arraignment in Sutter County Superior Court and Gill is set to appear May 14.

Anyone with information about the altercation is asked to contact the Sutter County Sheriff's Department at 822-7307.
