Rodeo parade brings out community

Stonyford was bustling with activity Saturday as hundreds of people lined the streets for the 2008 Stonyford Parade. Leading the way was the Glenn County Sheriff’s Posse and search and rescue team, followed by Grand Marshals Pat and Lynn Murray in the Stony Creek Horsemen’s antique surrey.

The nearly 50 entries include horses, antique cars and decorated floats. Popular entries included the Glenn-Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen’s cow barrel train, the Trombley’s Trippers line dancers, the Corkhill Wild Bunch, and kids, kids and more kids.

The parade was the kickoff to the main event – the 65th annual Stonyford Rodeo. We’ll run some action shots and rodeo results as soon as they’re available.
