Suspicious package turns up in Wheatland baseball field
The Wheatland Police Department said a suspicious package was discovered Wednesday at a baseball field, but officials determined it was not an explosive.
Police got a call at about 12:33 p.m. about a suspicious package at the Tom Abe Little League Field on C Street.
The item, which was found sitting near the announcers' booth, resembled a homemade explosive, according to police.
"An FBI E.O.D. team was called out to the scene where they found the object not to be an explosive," according to a news release.
