Nominate a Red Cross hero in your community

The American Red Cross chapter is taking nominations for its Heroes award, in recognition of heroic achievements.

Nominations are being accepted from 13 counties, including Tehama, Glenn and Colusa.

The American Red Cross, Northeasatern California chapter, will host a celebration to honor individuals in communities who have taken action in a time of crisis to help others and show extraordinary human compassion.

Hero nomination categories include Animal Rescue, Good Samaritan — adult and youth, Law Enforcement, Medical Professional, Military, Fire Rescue, Educator, Workplace, Spirit of the Red Cross.

Though the nominees must reside within the 13 counties, the heroic act may have occurred anywhere.

The eighth annual Red Cross Heroes Dinner for Yuba, Sutter, Colusa, Butte, Modoc, western Nevada, Sierra, Lassen, Trinity, Shasta, Tehama, Glenn, and Plumas counties, will take place March 16 at Glad Tidings Church in Yuba City.
