Corning farmer Rouse running for Assembly

Democrat Charles Rouse of Corning is throwing his hat into the ring for the 3rd Assembly District seat.

Rouse said he has filed his candidacy papers and will run in the June primary.

He joins a field of two Republican candidates, Tehama County Supervisor Bob Williams of Corning, and Assemblyman Dan Logue of Linda.

If no single candidate gets a simple majority of votes, the top two winners of the primary will move on to the general election in November.

Williams is a rancher, and Rouse is an olive farmer.

Logue is in the real estate business.

He was elected to the Assembly in 2008 after serving as a Yuba County supervisor.

The new 3rd Assembly district takes in the northern and eastern half of Colusa County, includes the Yuba-Sutter area and then expands north to take in Tehama County and surrounding counties.
