Sporty's Robbed

A burglary caught on a surveillance camera at Sportsman’s bar Tuesday morning may lead to the arrest of one or more suspects, according to authorities.

The Colusa Police Department is investigating the burglary, which is believed to have occurred between the hours of 5:30 and 8:30 a.m.

Colusa Police Chief Lyle Montgomery said at least one person is thought to have forced his way into the 135 Fifth St. establishment through the ceiling.

The burglars allegedly made off with more than $1,000 in cash that had been placed in two separate moneybags and two 12 packs of bottled beer.

Frank Rogers, proprietor of the bar, said this is the first robbery since he took over the establishment two years ago.

Montgomery said based on the video footage, an arrest is the likely outcome of the investigation. The case will then be turned over to the District Attorney’s office for further consideration, he said.

It is believed that one of the suspects may have been arrested following the burglary on unrelated charges in another county.

Rogers said Thursday the he appreciated the efforts the police are making on the case.

Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to contact the Colusa Police Department at 458-7777.

I agree, this paper is a poorly written piece of trash. It's a poor representation of Colusa County intellect. Try A bit harder please.

Robbery and Burglary are two separate things. Basic reporting should have figured this out. How can you trust the media when they can't get the basics right?
