Three inmates accused of Colusa County Jail fight
Three Colusa County Jail inmates have had felonies added to their charges after they reportedly beat up another inmate on Aug. 27 at the detention center.
All three — Luis Manuel Arroyo Jr., 22, of Yuba City, Ruben Allen Mercado, 21, of Williams, and Nathaniel Eisenhower Rojas, 19, of Colusa — face charges of suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury.
The victim needed several stitches, but did not require hospitalization, said Lt. Miguel Villasenor, the jail commander.
They also had an allegation of participating in a street gang added, although that element is under investigation, Villasenor said.
The report was sent to the District Attorney's Office before the formal arrests were made Sunday at the jail. The new bail was set at $40,000 apiece.
