City street work still on track

No traffic delays are anticipated as Colusa Public Works crews near the midpoint on a project to refurbish city streets.

Curb and gutter work began in April on Oak Street between Fourth and Fifth streets and will continue for another two weeks. The city will also perform the same work on Carson, Webster and Second streets. It is expected that all curb and gutter work will be complete by mid-June and work crews will finish laying asphalt by early August, according to Public Works Superintendent John Balderrama. The street work is funded from transportation bond monies and State Transportation Improvement Program funds, Public Works Director Patti Hickle said.
