RedHawks host alumni game in memory of Jordan Hillis
The Colusa High basketball program invites all current and former players to take part in the Jordan Hillis Memorial Fund Alumni Basketball Game at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the school.
The event is free but donations for the Hillis family will be accepted.

Danish gymnasts performing in Colusa
A group of Danish gymnasts will put on a free performance at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the Colusa High gymnasium.

Westside Little League is holding its officers election Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at Arbuckle Golf Course. Arbuckle, Maxwell and Williams residents who wish to be on the board need to be present.

Bears join fight to find a cure for cancer
The Pierce High volleyball program is spending the month of October raising money for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. During the Bears three October home games against Live Oak (Oct. 2), Hamilton City (Oct. 18) and Willows (Oct. 30) players will be selling raffle tickets for a dessert auction and other donated prizes during both the junior varsity and varsity games.
Pierce hosting basketball camp
The Pierce High basketball program is holding a fundamentals of basketball camp on Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. to prepare athletes for the upcoming season. Bears boys basketball coaches Noah Gomez and John Allen will teach footwork, shooting and ball-handling skills to boys and girls in grades 5-9 who plan on playing basketball this season. Registration is $30 and those signed up two weeks before the camp starts will receive a camp T-shirt.
Registration forms can be picked up in the offices at Pierce High, Johnson Junior High or Arbuckle Elementary.
