Pierce gets nasty with Rio Vista

The Bears may have made the Rio Vista Rams wish they had gotten lost on their way to Arbuckle Thursday, as the Bears put the hometown hammer down on Rio Vista 9-0.

Ricardo Hernandez and Rogelio Melendrez each netted a pair of goals for Pierce, which also got single tallies from Jesus Murrillo, Angel Raya, Alfonso Flores, Eduardo Navarro, and Luis Salud.

Murrillo, Hernandez, Melendrez, Daniel Ambriz, and Jose Navarro each assisted on goals, and Juan Pablo De Los Santos and Ben Jauregui combined to turn away six shots.

At 11-2-1 the Bears began the week one game behind 12-0-2 Williams for the top spot in the Sacramento Valley League, with a game Tuesday against Live Oak (9-5-2, 9-4-2) at home, and a Thursday trip to Colusa.
