Despite rains, county diamonds still shine

In between bursts of rainfall, young baseball and softball players filled the Colusa Area Little League fields on Wednesday and Thursday. With most area schools on spring break, the players faced off in cross-town and cross-county ball games.

The Cardinals from Colusa and the Tigers from Arbuckle Little League got the action started on Wednesday in the minor boys division, and the Giants, also from Colusa, and the Panthers from Maxwell Little League played the nightcap in the major boys division.

On Thursday, the Williams Little League coach-pitch softball team, the Express, played the Bees from Colusa. The night game in the major girls division featured the Angels from Arbuckle and the Heat from Colusa.
