Fun run and walk in Williams

The 5th annual Fun Run is being held in Williams on May 19. There are courses of one mile and a 5K, and the gun goes off at 8 a.m. The $20 pre-registration deadline is May 11, with the entry fee $25 after that. There is also a free Kid's Challenge on the track for kids 9 and under. There will be age-group awards, ribbons, prizes and refreshments. Proceeds go to Williams High to help with the purchase of an electronic sign for the front lawn.

Kids Fish Day in Colusa County

The Colusa County Flycasters are holding their 25th annual Colusa County Kids Fish Day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 12 at Little Stony Creek, just past the Little Stony Creek Campground.

The fish day is free to all children ages 12 and under. The first 100 kids will receive a T-shirt, cap and a goodie bag from the U.S. Forest Service. Approximately 900 rainbow trout will be planted in three age-group sections. Each child may keep a limit of five trout.

Mother's Day bad-ball in Colusa

The inaugural Mother's Day women's bad-ball tournament is May 12 at the softball fields across from Colusa High. The tournament is limited to 10 teams, and players must be at least a freshman in high school to play. Cost is $20 per person, and you may sign up as couples or individuals. Teams will be drawn from that list.

Concessions and T-shirts will be available for purchase, and proceeds will benefit the Colusa Softball Association.
