Lady Eagles fly over Elk Creek

Kodi Gimblin went off for a career-high 26 points for the Princeton High girls basketball team Tuesday, as the Eagles rose to 3-3 in the Pioneer League with a 51-38 triumph at Elk Creek. Princeton also improved to 7-10 on the season.

Gimblin's effort resulted from shooting 52 percent from the field (12-of-23) and going 2-of-4 from the charity stripe.

Gaby Rodriguez netted eight and Mindi Perez, six for the Lady Eagles, with Perez snaring a team-high 10 rebounds. Diane Romo also hit the boards hard, coming down with eight.

Elk Creek statistics were not available.

Princeton hosted Providence Friday, and plays next Friday at Downieville.

Elk Creek 36, ACA 28

On Monday, the Elk Creek girls played less-than-gracious hosts to American Christian Academy, handing the Eagles a 36-28 defeat.

Krista Swearinger and Sissy Hill split scoring honors for the Lady Elks with eight points each, with Kristin Wycoff and Nora Cano both making six-point contributions.
