Pierce girls shoot to tie with Esparto

The Lady Bears soccer team took its 1-0 record on the road Thursday, making the trip to Esparto to battle with the Spartans. After a scoreless first half, each team tickled the twine for a second-half goal and the two teams left the pitch with a 1-1 deadlock.

Cristina Carrillo booted in her first goal of the year for Pierce.

Yasmin Garica had her hands full protecting the Bears' den, standing firm to stop a 24-shot Esparto onslaught.

Pierce (1-0-1 Sacramento Valley League) played back-to-back home games to start off the week, as Live Oak came to Arbuckle Monday, followed by Durham Tuesday. On Thursday, the Bears make their way to Williams for a key county match-up.
