Fouse, McGrath make quick work of opponents at Gladiator Challenge
Two Colusa fighters earned quick victories Friday during Gladiator Challenge: Ringside at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln.
Clinton Fouse improved his professional record to 2-1 with a 14-second knockout of Chris Long, and Keil McGrath won by technical knockout in 20 seconds.
Fouse met Long in the middle of the cage and countered the aggressive fighter's early attack with a knee before landing a right leg-kick, right hook combination that sent Long tumbling to the canvas.
"I knew I was going to try to tag him with it. I loaded up with my hook but I didn't expect him to go down," Fouse said.
Fouse got in a few more punches on the ground before the referee stepped in to rescue Long.
"I expected to end it quick but I didn't expect 14 seconds quick. I was thinking Round 2 maybe," Fouse said.
McGrath made his debut with an impressive 20-second stoppage of Matt Sherman.
McGrath began the round and threw a few jabs before Sherman landed an inside leg kick. McGrath countered with a flurry of punches that made Sherman cover up and drop to his knees on the mat.
Sherman covered his head and tried to avoid taking damage, but the referee stepped in and stopped the fight after McGrath landed 11 unanswered blows.
