Honkers tune up for playoffs, win 1-0

The Willows Honkers tuned up for the Northern Section playoffs, which get started on Tuesday, with a 1-0 shutout win over the Hamilton Braves on Wednesday in Hamilton City.

The Honkers scored in the first inning and Willows pitcher Meghan Myers made the run stand up with a two-hit shutout performance in the circle.

 Elyse Anderson and Jessekah McCorkle had the only hits for the Braves.

Willows ends the regular season with a 16-11 record and is currently ranked second in the Northern Section Division 4 playoff points. Hamilton, the Mid-Valley League co-champions, finishes the regular season with an 11-19 mark.
