Varsity Volleyball
Los Molinos 3, Pierce 2
Clarivel Castillo notched 21 kills and helped Los Molinos improve to 11-2-1 this year with a five-game victory against Pierce on Thursday in Los Molinos.
Castillo and Emily Bailey, who had 10 kills, teamed up to block 11 shots throughout their 25-20, 25-7, 21-25, 25-27, 15-8 victory.
Kaitlyn Seaman served 11 aces and Dom Henderson made a match-high 25 digs to slow down the Bears' attack.
Natalie Corona led Pierce with 11 kills and contributed on five blocks. Morgan Diaz made seven kills and five aces, Mariah Diaz had seven kills, and Ellen Hansen added six kills.
The Bears dropped to 7-3 overall.
Princeton 3, Williams 0
The Eagles bounced back from a tough run in the Hamilton tournament over the weekend with a sweep of the Yellowjackets on Tuesday, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-10.
Gaby Rodriguez led Princeton with eight kills and contributed six aces. Amanda Hansen had a game-high eight aces and led the Eagles with 13 assists. Maryssa Martin added six kills, three aces and 17 digs.
Lauren Ferreira, Miranda Perez and Ashley McMartin had three kills each for Princeton's balanced attack.
Maxwell 3, Princeton 1
The Panthers continued to show marked improvement, upsetting a strong Princeton team in four games on Thursday in Maxwell, 25-7, 28-26, 18-25 and 25-22.
The victory brought Maxwell's season record to 4-1 and dropped Princeton to 6-4.
Varsity Tennis
Live Oak 8, Colusa 1
Live Oak remained undefeated and took control of the Sacramento Valley League with an 8-1 victory against host Colusa on Tuesday.
The RedHawks were competitive but the Lions' senior experience proved to be too much.
Coral Imhoff and Kimberlee Harmon defeated Lucero Topete and Jacque Mullen in the No. 1 doubles match 8-4 for the RedHawks' lone victory.

Yellowjackets begin cross country season in Redding
Jose Martinez led the Williams High cross country team with a sixth place finish in the first Mid-Valley League meet of the season on Tuesday at Clover Creek Preserve in Redding.
Martinez covered the 2.5-mile varsity course in 17 minutes, 8 seconds. Jonny Cervantes (19:38, 20th), Eduardo Velazquez (19:51, 21st), Cuitlahuac Cruz (23:50, 28th) and Isaac Ogaz (24:47, 30th) rounded out the Yellowjackets top five.
Emma Schaeffer placed 11th as Williams' lone varsity girl runner, finishing the course in 24:55.
JV Volleyball
Maxwell 2, Princeton 1
The junior-varsity Panthers dropped the first game but came back and won the final two games against the Eagles, 18-25, 25-22 and 15-13.
