Colusa JV baseball team wins league crown

The Colusa High School junior varsity baseball team captured the Sacramento Valley League championship last week, defeating the Durham Trojans 11-1 to finish league play at 5-1.

The Redskins got six strong innings from starting pitcher Benji Gil, who gave up only one hit and struck out 11. Nick Allegrini led the offense with three hits while Tony Castanon had a pair of hits and two runs scored. Colin Goodman added two runs, a basehit and two walks.

The Redskins end the year with an overall record of 11-11
