Cranford wins four events for Yellowjackets

The Williams High School junior varsity track team finished second at the Mid-Valley League track meet on Friday in Central Valley while the varsity boys and girls each finished third.

Abigail Cranford had an outstanding day for the Yellowjackets, winning all four events that she entered. She won the 100 meters (14.18), the 200 meters (30.38), the long jump (15-1.5) and the triple jump (28-10).

The varsity girls got a pair of wins from Tori Hibsch as she captured the 100 meters (13.62) and the 200 meters (28.71). She also finished second in the long jump (14-10).

Ashleigh Martini also won an event for Williams, taking first in the 300 low hurdles in 54.69 seconds. She was also second in the 100 hurdles in 19.62 seconds.

For the varsity boys, Giovanni Muniz was first in the shot put with a heave of 40-2. He finished second in the discus by just eight inches with a throw of 116-3.

The Yellowjackets will compete in the Division 4 meet on Friday.
